Get Up, Get Out & Go! (GGG) offers free outdoor recreational activities for kids ages 11 - 14 and their families to get out into their national park and Akron area Metro Parks. The series kicks off on Tuesday, June 14, with a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, starting at 6:30 p.m. Regular programs are Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 14 - July 14, 7 to 9 p.m., and include wilderness training, night hiking, cycling, and fishing. The Canton Comic Opera Company presents a special Civil War Sesquicentennial Film Series featuring two silent film comedies set during the Civil War with two of the silent screen's most beloved comedians. The series starts on Friday, June 17 with Hands Up! (1926) starring Raymond Griffith, and continues on Friday, July 8 with The General (1927) starring Buster Keaton.
Dr. Seuss Sculpture Garden at Eton Chagrin Boulevard
For the first time, Ohioans will have unfettered access to the most famous characters created by Dr. Seuss as part of a national touring sculpture garden. The Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, Sam I Am from Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle, Horton the Elephant, and The Lorax (Seuss's groundbreaking environmental book) are now immortalized in 4' to 6' bronze sculptures as a tribute to the literary and artistic legacy of Dr. Seuss, aka Theodor Seuss Geisel.

Bay Village "Country Festival"
This is one of the finest antique and craft shows in Northeast Ohio. Learn basic metalsmithing and bookbinding skills while you create a contemporary binding sewn on leather straps. In this workshop you will practice basic techniques by creating a small plaque (which can be later used to decorate a book). You will then prepare and decorate two 5" x 3" brass boards with paint, patinas, or applied elements, create a closure, rivet leather straps to boards and sew a multi-signature blank journal.

Girls on Film: 40 Years of Women in Rock
The exhibit, featuring images by photographer Anastasia Pantsios, offers a snapshot into the world of some of the most influential women in rock and roll over the last four decades. When Anastasia Pantsios photographed her first concert - a free concert by Jefferson Airplane in Chicago's Grant Park in 1969 - women were a rarity in rock bands. At the same time, women were trying to elbow their way into the burgeoning ranks of rock photographers, led by Rolling Stone's Annie Leibovitz.

Cleveland: A Personal Photographic Journey
Renowned Bratenahl photographer Jennie Jones brings her collection of Historic Cleveland Architecture to the Gallery at Old Stone. Jennie Jones is a Cleveland treasure, a true icon of vision, an artist not to miss. She is a widely-published photographer, locally and internationally, and highly lauded for her artistic documentary work of the city, its architecture and its ever-changing environment. This show comes just prior to the publication of her next book due to be released this fall.
Cuyahoga Challenge
Challenge yourself to hike, run, or walk your dog on the designated trails. Complete 10 trails by September 30 to receive a commemorative patch designed by local artist Chuck Ayers. Registration forms are available online, at park visitor centers, and at Park Place in Peninsula and Trail Mix stores. The form lists the designated trails and their difficulty ratings. Once you have completed the Challenge, take your form to Trail Mix for validation and to receive your 2011 patch.
